Botox
Botox is an FDA-approved treatment for wrinkles that is injected into facial muscles to target one of the underlying causes of frown lines and crow’s feet – repeated muscle contractions in the face. Muscle contractions occur constantly with facial movements including frowning and squinting. Over time, these dynamic muscle movements can cause fine lines and wrinkles to become more pronounced, even when you at rest. Botox temporarily blocks nerve impulses to the muscles, which helps to smooth lines around your eyes between the eyebrows, across your forehead, and dimpling of your chin. Botox can also be used to perform an upper lip flip, which helps your upper lip look fuller.

Radiesse
Radiesse is an FDA-approved dermal filler that is used for smoothing wrinkles and plumping up areas of the face that have lost volume with age. Radiesse contains calcium-based microspheres that are similar minerals found in your body. Once injected, Radiesse can smoothe out the first signs of aging, which include:
- Lines that run from the corner of your nose to the corner of your mouth.
- Lines that run from the corner of your mouth towards your chin.
- Along the jawline to reduce the appearance of jowls.
- Lines that cause creases across the chin.

Restylane
Restylane is an FDA-approved dermal filler that targets problem areas of the face such as wrinkles, fine lines, and lost volume. Restylane fillers are a family of hyaluronic acid filler products, similar to Juvederm, that are used when patients want to restore youth, smooth skin, volume, and radiance to their face. Restylane can be used to address the following aesthetic concerns:
- Restore volume in the cheeks.
- Soften marionette lines.
- Enhance chin projection.
- Plump lips.
- Hand rejuvenation.
Restylane can also be used to fill in the hollows under your eyes (tear troughs) to reduce the appearance of dark circles. Results can last up to 12 months, and can be extended longer with regular maintenance appointments. Dr. Romo will discuss all of your options prior to injection to ensure that you are happy with your results.

If you are considering having any of these cosmetic procedures done at a salon or non-medical environment, by not choosing a board-certified professional you may be putting your health at risk. Although some of these procedures are not classified as “surgical,” it’s essential to have them performed only by a licensed physician. A top facial plastic surgeon will be able to provide the specialized technique and careful placement necessary in order to achieve the best and most natural-looking results.
